Hi there, I’ve procrastinated doing this for far too long: that is, restarting blogging. Taking inspiration from my dear friend Harry Guo who recently started back up his blog after a few years, I too shall continue with this endeavor.
To keep myself organized, the purpose with this post is three fold. First, to summarize as succinctly as I possibly can the past two or so years since my last post on here. Next, to explore and reflect on the present, my summer here in Israel and as a Birthright Excel Fellow. Finally, to provide some thoughts about my next year in Jerusalem at the Pardes Institute and let you know about where my head is at and where I wish to venture forth in my future. I know that when writing, I tend to be a perfectionist, worrying about syntax, word choice, structure, and all that good storytelling stuff. Perfectionism too often leads to paralysis, and my intention here is merely just to get you, dear reader, caught up to the present and to force myself to get back into the habit of writing. Thus, this may be a bit of stream of consciousness prose as I write in bullet formation. I hope you’ll forgive me.
The Past Two Years of My Life
Wow! It's absolutely crazy to believe that my adventure in Asia was two year ago. In some regards, it feels like yesterday that I was hiking up a mountain in Xi'An at night with a guy I met in my hostel or sitting by the pool in Chengdu with the family I was living with for a week. In other ways, it feels like a lifetime ago, and I know that I've changed and grown much since that period of my life.
I think I'll end this post here and speak about the present and future in two separate posts. I didn't realize how much had actually happened in the past few years, but now, you're all caught up to June 2019. If you actually read through all of this, congratulations! You have way too much free time! I apologzie for how scattered this all was, I just wanted to write out a chronology of events and thought processes in order for myself to better frame what I am up to now, as well as where I'll be going in the future: both to be discussed in posts in the near future!
Thanks for reading!
All my love,
